The Holt Town Ring will provide a framework that will act as a spine for the new community and its surroundings. It will integrate existing infrastructure, the canal and river, the rich architectural heritage, and the latent ecological framework into the development of five distinct neighbourhoods. The best features of both the city and the suburbs will be provided through a well balanced mixture of urban typologies and facilities as well as a variety of public routes, public spaces and landscapes. One half of the Holt Town Ring will function as a higher density neighbourhood, with apartment buildings, commercial programme, services and working spaces. The second half of the Holt Town Ring will offer high quality landscapes that are directly linked to the adjoining neighbourhoods.
